Geospatial applications
This research would investigate new ways to use for HDF5 for geospatial applications. HDF5 is believed to offer advantages over many existing formats and databases, especially when the data is large or complex. Uses include using HDF5 as scalable object stores for existing systems, as well as a standalone format. Demographics include state and federal government agencies, possibly GIS companies.
