ITT Visual Information Solutions and HDF5 Collaboration

THG and ITT Visual Information Solutions (makers of IDL and ENVI) have begun a collaboration on the development of HDF functionality in IDL. ITT Visual Information Solutions has provided THG with IDL software and licenses; THG will work with the ITT Visual Information Solutions technical staff to improve the process of integrating new versions of the HDF software with IDL. ITT Visual Information Solutions and THG expect this collaboration to help HDF users who rely on the IDL software to get timely access to the improved HDF libraries. The collaboration will also allow THG to enable IDL clients to access HDF5 files on remote servers via the OpenDAP protocol.
